11 April 2005
Dear 2005ers
The leaves have left the trees (five leaves left), the blackbird decided to stay this winter and my Peruvian angel fish wanted me to turn up the heating cable in their tank. That's winter time. Although the sun's a shining today, my girl came in with stiff nipples. Oh, it's wintertime, lemme tell you, but the time for those long itchy underpants will soon be gone.
With April comes the spring. Birds and hedgehogs get friendly again, building nests in the trees and digging holes in the ground, looking forward to the season of eating juicy worms and staying up late.
...is this a garden?
I can't wait to get busy gardening. As you can see, it needs a serious makeover, or else the hedgehogs will move over to my neighbour. Hedgehogs need a certain quality of life, as we do, and they don't give a damn about whose garden it is. Never trust a hedgehog from another man's garden.
I moved my speakers outside onto the balcony, praising the good lord, while listening to Antony and the Johnsons, The Libertines and Elliot Smith's new album. God bless his troubled soul.
I tried to pack my bag for the Amazon trip, but I couldnīt think of anything to put in it. What does a Norwegian guy need for a trip like that?
Testing gear before the trip. Never know what might happen. The jungle is full of gooks.
- Passport
- Camera
- Dollars
- Snorkelling gear
- Flaps (flaps?)... Flippers
- Shades
- Night goggs (from spy shop)
- Indian outfit
- Spanish dictionary
- Tent
- Mosquito net
- Sleeping bag
- Mosquito spray
- Map
- Good book for flight
- Stamps
- Pen and paper
- Mobile phone
Finding the right hat always gives me trouble. This is Christian and Caroline testing out hats for the trip. I'd hate to be found floating with the wrong hat on.
